I could live in just about any neighborhood of the city. In some, I would only be able to afford a small apartment and in others I could have a huge house, but chances are that I could find something affordable to me in just about every neighborhood of the city. I chose East Price Hill to buy a house because I love the community, I grew up in West Price Hill, and I love the housing stock. My house is 100 years old and has beautiful stained glass windows and hardwood floors. I like the local businesses that are within walking distance and the convenience of the location. However, there are things that I love about every neighborhood in this city! Each neighborhood has a different unique flair that sets it apart from other neighborhoods and the suburbs. I love the great shopping district of Hyde Park and how easy it would be to walk to different things. I love the energy of Northside. I love the community feel in Evanston, and how convenient it is to get to both downtown and places like Kenwood. I love the houses in Saylor Park. I love the spirit of cooperation in Kennedy Heights and Pleasant Ridge. There is something to love about each and every one of our neighborhoods. I think, for most of us, where we live is the neighborhood in which we want to live. The most important part of it all, for me, was finding a place that liked that was within the city limits. I love living in the city and I can't imagine being in the suburbs. Our city has a lot to offer! |
